The San Luis Valley Colcha Embroidery Project supports artists to teach and tend to vital community connections while celebrating cultural traditions. The project supports exhibitions, workshops, and scholarship.


Partners

The San Luis Valley Colcha Embroidery Project is a collaboration between HEART of Saguache, The Range, and artists in the Valley.

HEART of Saguache is a fiscally sponsored project of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center.

The Range is a project of NOON Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to arts and cultural resources, education, exhibitions, and archives in Saguache, Colorado.

Partners include Alamosa Library, Antonito Senior Center, Antonito Together, The Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities, Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC), Saguache Senior Center, Saguache County Museum, San Luis Senior Center, Sangre de Cristo Heritage Center, Sisters of Color United for Education, and the University of Denver.

The San Luis Valley Colcha Embroidery Project receives materials support from Colonial Needle, Diversions Needlepoint, and Florilegium.

Funders

The San Luis Valley Colcha Embroidery Project has support from funders including the Folk and Traditional Arts Grant from Colorado Creative Industries, Saguache County, AJL Foundation, and Rawlings Foundation, and has taught in Centennial, Sierra Grande, and Mountain Valley Schools with support from THINK 360 Equity in Arts Education and Southern Colorado Community Foundation grants.
